Dr. Susan Daniel has been in private practice with her
husband, Dr. Christopher Davis, in Carlsbad,
California since 1992. She
obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University
of California at Davis in 1987 and her Doctor of Optometry
degree at the Southern California College of Optometry in 1991. She was on the
clinical staff at the Southern California College of Optometry in Family
Practice and Pediatric Service before opening her practice in Carlsbad. She offers comprehensive
examinations for adults and children, contact lenses, laser surgery
consultations, treatment of ocular disease, visual efficiency and visual
perceptual examinations, and vision rehabilitation therapy. She has hospital
privileges at Tri-City Medical Center Acute Rehabilitation Services in the
visual rehabilitation treatment for brain-injured patients and stroke victims.
She has a special interest in serving children and adults with disabilities and
is a consultant for the North Coastal Consortium for Special Education. She
specializes in the visual development for children with autism and is the
parent of an autistic child. She is a member of the American Optometric
Association, College
of Optometry Vision Development,
National Optometric Rehabilitation Association, and Soroptimist International
of Oceanside.
Christopher Davis, O.D.
Dr. Christopher Davis received his Bachelor of
Science Degree in 1984 from UCSD and his Doctorate of Optometry Degree in 1989
from the Southern California College of Optometry. Dr. Davis offers the highest
level of expertise in ocular disease detection and management as well as
contact lens fitting, utilizing the latest in technological advances. He is the
director of the optical laboratory and makes sure all of the lenses are made to
exact specifications. He is bilingual in Spanish and speaks locally to schools
and corporations about the latest in technology and visual conditions. He is a long time member of the American
Optometric Association and of the Vision Source Network, a national
organization of elite private practice optometrists.
Camilla Dukes, O.D., F.C.O.V.D.
Dr. Camilla Dukes is board certified in vision therapy and a
Fellow of the College
of Optometry in Vision
Development. As a practicing developmental optometrist in Denmark, she
specialized in providing vision therapy to patients with strabismus (eye turns),
amblyopia (lazy eye), visual efficiency and visual-motor perceptual problems,
learning disabilities, stroke and traumatic brain-injury. She joined the
practice of Drs. Daniel and Davis in June 2000, and lends her expertise in
visual rehabilitation to this population. After returning to optometry school
at Pacific University
in Oregon,
she received her United States Doctorate of Optometry in 2004.
Karen E. Love, O.D., F.C.O.V.D.
Dr. Karen E. Love attended Illinois College of Optometry and
graduated in 2003. In addition to her
training in general optometry, she also completed training in behavioral
optometry and vision therapy for general and special needs patients, including
diagnosis and remediation of learning related visual disorders, vision therapy,
and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation.
She also received training in the diagnosis and treatment of children's
and infant's vision, including strabismus (eye turns), amblyopia (lazy eye),
and pediatric ocular disease. She is a
member of the College
of Optometrists in Vision
Development, an organization devoted to the furthering of our understanding of
childhood visual disorders. She is also
a member of the American Optometric Association and the Sports Vision section
of the American Optometric Association.
She has provided sports vision training to many athletes including the
DePaul University Blue Devils men's and women's basketball teams. Dr. Love
joined the practice of Dr. Daniel and Dr. Davis in 2006. Here, she continues to provide general
optometric care with an emphasis in the examination and treatment of infants,
children, special needs populations, patients with traumatic brain injuries and
vision therapy.
